Disc golf is a fun frisbee sport for all ages new to the Napa Valley. The 18 hole course has discatcher baskets. The well layed out course is easy to follow using the tee signs on each hole.
The first course using a catching device went in at Oak Grove Park in La Candida in 1975. Now there are over 800 courses in the U.S. alone.
The sport can be played by people of all ages and also gives a nice hiking workout. Special golf discs are available at the park in the kiosk where course maps can be had as well.
Our club, the Napa Disk Club holds a promotional even in May (World's Biggest). A summer league night, April through August on Thursdays starting at 5. Each summer we hold a Pro Disc Golf Association. (PDGA) event. 2002 will be our 8th event. Find out more about disc golf, nationally at pdga.com or in northern California, at NorCalSeries.com.
